2009 at Hong Kong Sports Institute
The HK Youth Netball squad
is currently preparing for the 7th Asian Youth Netball
Championships which is to be held in New Delhi, India in
July 2010. To help understand and build a profile of
the athletes, the girls were put through their paces at the
Hong Kong Sports Institute where they completed 3 fitness
tests:
1. Vertical jump -
measures the leg power (jumping power)
2. 10m,20m sprint -
measures their take off and speed
3. 505 test - measures
their change of direction speed
This has given the Youth
girls a taste of what life is like for an Elite athlete.
Their results will be analyzed by the HKSI Sports Science
team and will be compared to norms from Netball Australia
and other team sports in HK.
