You can play Netball without a Coach.  But you cannot play without Umpires.  Umpires play a very important role in a game of Netball.

Also, each team in the HK Netball League is required to provide its own umpire through the season.

Umpires help to improve the standard of games and sometimes they also assist in educating the players as well as the coaches.
