HKNA will be offering three
coaching courses in 2010. There will be two Foundation
Coaching Courses running in August targeting different
groups of participants. Any participants can join
either group as long as they have the pre-requisite required
for each course. Also a Development Coaching Course
will be held in November.

FCC-1:
Foundation Coaching Course (Netball)
for young aspiring coaches.
This particular Foundation Coaching Course will be modified
to suit the needs for young aspiring coaches either
currently in the upper secondary or have just graduated from
Secondary education. This is ideal for netballers
aged between 17 to 20 years or age who have played netball
during school life and wants to take the next step and be in
a coaching role.
Course dates:
14th August 2010 (Saturday) –
9am to 2pm at Hong Kong Olympic House (Theory).
21st August 2010 (Saturday) –
12pm to 4pm at Western Park (Practical).
Cost: $200 which
covers all the materials (text book, notes and DVD) you will
need for the course.
Pre-requisites:

Participants must attend both days of the course. The
participants will not pass the course if they fail to attend
all the course dates. Successful participants must also
require to pass the practical assessment.

Participants must have netball playing experience (minimum
of 2 years) at either school or club teams.
*
Participants must have a sound understanding of the rules of
netball.
FCC-2:
Foundation Coaching Course (Netball)
for Physical Education (PE) teachers (or training PE
teachers) with no previous netball background.
This particular Foundation Coaching Course will be modified
to suit the needs for the PE teachers or training PE
teachers with no netball background. The course will aim at
introducing the game of netball to the participants which
includes all the basic rules, fundamental skills and drills
and games useful to teach their students. The applicants
will also experience playing netball in a game environment.
Course dates:
24th August 2010 (Tuesday) –
7pm to 10pm at Fa Yuen Street Sports Centre (Practical)
29th August 2010 (Sunday) –
10am to 2pm at Hong Kong Olympic House (Theory)
31st August 2010 (Tuesday) –
7pm to 10pm at Fa Yuen Street Sports Centre (Practical)
Cost: $200 which
covers all the materials (text book, notes and DVD) you will
need for the course.

Participants must have approved teaching qualifications for
Physical Education. A qualification certificate or a
letter from the Principal of their school will be required
to prove their qualification. For training teachers, a
letter from their university lecturer will be required.

Participants must attend all THREE days of course. The
participants will not pass the course if they fail to attend
all the course dates. Successful participants must also
require to pass the practical assessment.
DCC:
Development Coaching Course (Netball)
The Development Course is a one day course (7 hours) and is
designed for coaches who have completed the Foundation
Course and have been an active coach since the accreditation
was given. The Development Course will focus on more the
advanced skills and strategies and court play. This is
also ideal for coaches who want to update their Development
Coaching Accreditation.
Course date:
20th November 2010 (Saturday) – Times and
venues TBC.
Pre-requisites:
*
Participants should hold a current Foundation Coaching
Accreditation and must have had at least one year/ season
coaching experience after completion of the Foundation
Coaching Course.
*
Participants must have completed and passed the Section 1
Theory Exam Paper (pass mark is 70%). The paper should be
completed within 6 years of the course dates. If you have
not completed the Theory exam, please contact HKNA Technical
Manager at
conniewongnetball@hotmail.com. This theory paper must
be completed BEFORE the start of the course.

Successful participants must complete the 7 hours required
for the course and pass the practical assessment.
Cost: $300 which
covers all the materials (text book, notes and DVD) you will
need for the course.
