After a successful 2011 14's Academy program, HKNA will be running another 14's program starting February 2012. This is suitable for young netballers who want to further develop their skills and take the next step in their netball pathway.  The training sessions will be run by qualified & experienced coaches.  These squads are set up to identify young talented netballers who could be future HK National Youth (U21’s) representative to compete in the Asian Youth Championships in 2013.

   The Academy sessions will consist of: speed & agility work, specialist area skills (shooters/centre court/ defenders), court strategies, ball skills and fitness.  If you want to develop your netball game further, this program is for you! 

Training Dates for the successful athletes. The dates are fixed so please make sure you are available to train on these dates before trialling.

Regional 16's Academy Program 2011

Congratulations to the following 16 athletes on their selection into the Kowloon16's Squad.  

2011 Regional 14's Academy Squad  

CONGRATULATIONS to the following athletes on their selection into the inaugural Regional 14's Netball Academy.  The girls will undergo eight intense training sessions in the lead up to a tournament day in May.  The squad is identified as possible future National Squad representatives and will be coached by the Coach of the National Youth Team.  A total of 52 girls trialled for the Academy where they all performed a variety of fitness tests as well as match play.    Some photos from one of the training sessions can be found on our facebook page.

2010 Regional Netball 16's Academy Squads

The 2010 Regional Netball Academy (RNA) is suitable for netballers who want to further develop their skills and take the next step in their netball pathway.  The squads will be run by the current coach of the HK Youth Netball Team, Connie Wong (HKNA Technical Manager and a Netball Australia Level Two accredited coach) and you will also have the chance of training alongside the best netballers in HK for this age group.  These squads are set up to identify youth talented netballers who could be potential HK Youth (U21’s) squad member to compete in the Asian Youth Championships in 2012.    

There were 96 athletes registered to trial for the two academies and after two weeks of trials, 21 athletes have been selected for the Island squad and 18 athletes have been selected for the Kowloon squad.  These athletes will be competing for a place in the final team of 12 to represent HK in the 3rd International Youth Challenge in Singapore from 27th November to 4th December 2010.
